On Behalf of the British Government, Prime Minister David Cameron presented Sachin Tendulkar a photograph of the maestro walking off the field at Old Trafford after scoring an unbeaten 119 against England in 1990. It was Tendulkar’s first century in Test cricket.

The Prime Minister is on a two-day visit to India. “I think he is an extraordinary cricketer, a fantastic player, an all time great on inspiring young players, I wish him well today,” Cameron was quoted as saying by ANI.

“I think it’s not just about the cricket, but also consistency. You need to be really consistent to score a century. If you look who has done more to inspire the young cricketers, he (Sachin) has done well in that,” Cameron added.
