Tendulkar had provided air tickets and financial support to the players for their recently concluded tour of Bangladesh. Pradeep Raj, organiser of wheelchair cricket in India, told Mumbai Mirror: We re immensely grateful to Sachin. But for him, it would have been difficult for us to undertake the tour. Raj also thanked Tendulkar for giving a pep talk to the side before embarking on their tour.

The Indian team emerged victorious in the 3-match series, winning 2 games and were welcomed by fans at Delhi International Airport on May 9. Raj added: Sachin s help has come to our rescue in many ways. Immediately, the financial support has helped us pull off the tour which could have materialised without it. In future it could help us further.

Raj was critical of ICC and BCCI for their lack of support.Wheelchair cricket is similar to normal cricket, only difference being that the boundary ropes are shorter (45 m).
