Sachin Tendulkar: Rajnikanth’s enthusiasm infectious

Chennai: Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, who rubbed shoulders with Tamil megastar Rajinikanth at the opening ceremony of the second edition of Indian Super League here, finds the actor’s enthusiasm infectious. Rajinikanth even shared a buggy ride with Sachin at the Jawaharlal Nehru indoor stadium here before the start of the tournament on Saturday. The Chennaiyin FC took on Atletico De Kolkata in the opening match of the season. Besides Rajinikanth and Tendulkar, Bollywood stars Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt were also present at the event. Sachin Tendulkar is the co-owner (along with Prasad V Polturi)  of Kerala Blasters Football Club (Kerala Blasters FC) which is a football team that plays in the Indian Super League (ISL). Sachin Tendulkar’s team Kerala Blasters FC’s home stadium is Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi, Kerala. The franchise has an annual revenue of $15 million. Kerala Blasters played exceedingly well in the inaugural season of ISL reaching the finals. They lost the final to Aletico de Kolkata, the match was played at the DY Patil Stadium in Tendulkar’s hometown Mumbai. It was a closely fought game and Altetico de Kolkata won it 1-0. Talking of Tendulkar’s relationship with Rajnikanth— the duo have immense respect for each other and are legends in their respective fields. Both the celebrities have a big fan following. Tendulkar is arguably the most worshipped cricketer in the game’s history and Rajnikanth has a cult following in South India and Japan. Rajnikanth is also one of the highest paid actors in India.
