Former Indian cricketer and batting legend Sachin Tendulkar shared a picture of him along with his father on the occasion of Father’s Day on Sunday, June 21.

Ramesh Tendulkar, the Master Blaster’s father, was a reputed Marathi poet and novelist. He passed away while Sachin was touring with the Indian cricket team in the 1999 World Cup. Sachin, as result, missed out on the league match against Zimbabwe in order to attend his father’s last rites. On the insistance of his mother however, he returned to England for the remainder of the World Cup, slamming an unbeaten 140 against Kenya in the following match. READ: Iconic fathers in cricket
