Omar Abdullah, chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, remembered the time when he and Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar stood at hospital line for birth registration of their respective children.
Â
Abdullahâs eldest son and Tendulkarâs daughter were born in the same hospital on the same day in Mumbai.
Â
“There is a moment that I will remember for life. Sachinâs daughter and my eldest son were born on the same day, in the same hospital in Mumbai. Our hospital rooms were next to each other. That time no one knew me; I had not entered politics. But everyone knew Sachin Tendulkar,” he was quoted as saying by DNA.
Â
“When we went for birth registration, he was standing in front of me. While leaving, I just congratulated him, and he thanked me and left. I am sure he might not remember this, but I remember it very well,” he added.

Tendulkar is playing his farewell Test series against West Indies at home. The first Test is being played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata and the second Test was at Mumbai. On the Day One of the first Test, Tendulkar also picked up the wicket of Shane Shillingford in the first innings.
