The Eden Gardens is all set to host Sachin Tendulkar’s 199th Test match starting from November 6th to 10th. Around 70,000 tickets will have the photo of Sachin Tendulkar printed on it. This is the first time that a player’s photo has been printed on a ticket. The ticket will also have Tendulkar’s autograph.

The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) sought the permission from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to have Tendulkar’s photo on the ticket which will be a cricketing memorabilia for the fans.

“Normally, we don’t have the practice of printing any particular cricketer’s photograph on a match ticket. But this is a special and emotional occasion as well. Therefore, we would like to seek BCCI’s permission to use any action photograph of Tendulkar at the Eden Gardens. Once we get the permission, we will issue a print order,” Biswarup Dey told PTI on October 17.

“After all, these two Tests are going to be exceptional and high on emotions. We want to take this match ticket to the level of being called a memorabilia,” told Dey to DNA.

“If this happens, it is going to be the first time in the history of Eden Gardens that a ticket will carry an image of a cricketer playing in the match,” he said adding, “We would have done the same for Sourav [Ganguly] but unfortunately his last match was not here.”
