Sachin Tendulkar’s mother Rajni, who is set to watch her son’s 200th Test match at the Wankhede later in the month, will be brought to the President’s Box in the stadium by a specially made ramp.

According to Mid-Day, Safdar Karmali, who made the ramp has decided not to charge the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) for his services. He has been associated with the MCA since in 1974.

“It was very special to make this ramp for Tendulkar’s mother. When we came to know that he wants to bring her for his last match, we decided that this [ramp] will be our contribution towards the legendary batsman.”

“We will not charge the MCA anything. We will apply finishing touches to the ramp a couple of days before the Test,” he added.

Earlier, a temporary ramp was shown to Tendulkar, who disapproved it since it wasn’t wide enough to allow his mother’s wheelchair to pass through.
