Sachin Tendulkar will be presented a golden bat, ball and 100 guineas at a joint felicitation by the state government and the Cricket Association of Bengal ahead of the Mumbai Indians’ IPL match against Kolkata Knight Riders in Kolkata on Saturday.

A 15-minute programme preceding the toss has been organised to honour Tendulkar for notching up his historic 100th international century. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will present the mementos.

“We had planned this during India’s Test against South Africa but the 100th century did not materialise then. Now it has become a reality,” CAB president Jagmohan Dalmiya told reporters after their working committee meeting here this evening.

“He is coming here for the first time after the milestone. So we plan to felicitate him in a befitting manner,” he added.

Sports Minister Madan Mitra said, “We plan to felicitate Sachin Tendulkar in a befitting way for his 100th international century milestone.”

Tendulkar would also be presented a citation and memento, he said. (PTI)
