Chasing Kings XI Punjab‘s (KXIP) score of 156, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) got off to a dicey start. They have skipper Gautam Gambhir and Surya Kumar Yadav trying to build a stand for them after the loss of two quick wickets. They are 38 for two at the end of five overs. Robin Uthappa had a close run-out chance but he hit a few lovely boundaries to set the chase rolling as Gautam Gambhir was happy to play second fiddle. Uthappa though did not last long as Sandeep  trapped in front of the stumps.

Manish Pandey coming in at number three has got going right away with a couple of boundaries but he too fell to Sandeep as George Bailey took a simple catch. The new ball was important and KXIP made the most of it taking wickets at the right time. Live Updates: Kings XI Punjab vs Kolkata Knight Riders

Earlier today, winning the toss and electing to field first, KKR had KXIP in trouble early on when their pace bowlers reduced KXIP to 48 for three in the Powerplay overs. Glenn Maxwell and George Bailey got them back in the game with a 63-run stand. Maxwell fell soon and Bailey started to run out of partners.  Bailey though went onto score his 2nd IPL fifty to get KXIP to a fighting total. Live Scorecard: Kings XI Punjab vs Kolkata Knight Riders
