Kings XI Punjab are in a brilliant position defending a score of 155 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the eight edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2015.  Sandeep Sharma has picked up four for 25 in his four overs and broken the back of KKR’s batting line-up. KKR are 63 for five at the end of nine overs. KKR have Yusuf Pathan and Andre Russell battling it out for them. Live Updates: Kings XI Punjab vs Kolkata Knight Riders

KKR lost a couple of early wickets in Robin Uthappa and Manish Pandey to the swing of Sandeep Sharma. Both of them hit a couple of boundaries but could not carry on. Surya Kumar Yadav came in and started in his usual self hitting a couple of clips into the fence. Gautam Gambhir was all but watching the action from the other end. But Yadav fell to Thisara Perera as he too did not carry on after his start. Bailey spotted the chance and brought back Sharma  for his fourth over and Sandeep did not disappoint as he took out the KKR skipper Gambhir. Sandeep was on a hat-trick when he dismissed Ryan ten Doeschate for a duck, trapping in front of the stumps. Replays showed it was a poor decision as ten Doeschate had inside-edged his defensive shot first up.

Earlier today, winning the toss and electing to field first, KKR had KXIP in trouble early on when their pace bowlers reduced KXIP to 48 for three in the Powerplay overs. Glenn Maxwell and George Bailey got them back in the game with a 63-run stand. Maxwell fell soon and Bailey started to run out of partners.  Bailey though went onto score his 2nd IPL fifty to get KXIP to a fighting total. Live Scorecard: Kings XI Punjab vs Kolkata Knight Riders
