Former spinner Saqlain Mushtaq has claimed that Pakistan  has immense talent in relation to the game, but needs proper polishing. Speaking ahead of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2018, wherein he is a spin bowling consultant with Peshawar Zalmi, Saqlain urged ICC to help rebuild Pakistan cricket by ensuring steps to bring back the sport in the country. Since the 2009 terror attack in Lahore, Pakistan have hosted a handful of games. They hosted Zimbabwe in 2015, and in 2017, they hosted Sri Lanka in a T20I and World XI in a T20I series.

Speaking to GEO News, Saqlain said, “Pakistan’s talent in the game of cricket is unstoppable so the world’s cricketing body should help Pakistan to bring back the game to the cricket-loving country.” In addition, he stated that the nation has ability to produce better spinners than him.

Note: Mushtaq is the founder of the much-talked about doosra.

In other news, the third edition of PSL begins on February 22, which will have two of its playoffs in Lahore. The final is slated to be played at Karachi on March 25.
