Saurashtra Cricket Association has introduced a monthly gratis scheme for its retired Ranji Trophy cricketers and umpires on the BCCI lines from November 1.

 

The scheme is applicable to those, who have completed 60 years and are not covered under any scheme of the BCCI or other cricket associations, a media release from SCA secretary Niranjan Shah stated on Monday.

 

The scheme is for retired Ranji Trophy players who have played for the erstwhile WISCA/Nawanagar/Kathiawar and SCA, Shah informed.

 

Those who have played at least ten matches would get Rs 7,000 per month while those with less than 10 matches under their belt would receive Rs 5,000 per month.

 

Retired Ranji Trophy umpires, who were on BCCI Panel, would be eligible for Rs 5,000 per month. (PTI)
