Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shahryar Khan has written a letter to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) urging the board to keep cricket and politics separate in a quest to resume bilateral ties between the two countries. Shahryar said the the boards should use cricket as a tool to formulate peace between the two nations. “Politics is vulnerable to highs and lows and the sport of cricket should be kept away from it,” the Pakistan newspaper quoted Khan as saying. “Cricket is a tool to formulate peace between the countries.” “We have given the broadcasting rights to Ten Sports and International Cricket Council (ICC) accepts the channel’s bid,” the PCB chief said, according to The Express Tribune. PCB has not lost hopes of having a bilateral series between India and Pakistan in December 2015, according to the letter written by Shahryar to the BCCI recently. The PCB has however ruled out playing a home series in India as suggested by ICC President Zaheer Abbas a few days back. The series, if it happens will most likely take place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), after South Africa’s tour of India beginning from October 2015.  READ: India vs Pakistan series in UAE in ‘real danger’, says Shahryar Khan

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shahryar Khan has said that diplomatic talks between Pakistan and India will help in the revival of cricket ties between the two countries after a seven-year pause. A delegation from Islamabad led by Sartaj Aziz, advisor to Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on foreign affairs and national security, will visit New Delhi to meet Indian officials on August 23 and 24. Pakistan is awaiting the green light from New Delhi for a proposed cricket series in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) starting in December 2015, the first between the South Asian rivals since 2007.
