Returning from injury after a long layoff, Bangladesh Test and T20I captain Shakib Al Hasan had his first training session on Tuesday following his omission from the three-match ODI’s series against New Zealand and the two Test matches due to the finger injury during the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL 2019) final between Dhaka Dynamites and Comilla Victorians. According to a report in the Daily Sun, Shakib’s availability for the third Test is still not certain. He took an x-ray on Monday and the report suggests that he will need another week before removing the bandage from his finger. He spent half an hour at the gym with BCB physio Morshed Hasan, who’s in charge of Shakib’s rehabilitation program. “He will do physical training for the next one week and later we will decide our next course of action,’’ said Morshed. “He is expected to do running while there will be gym session and everything will take place to increase his strength and stability. I cannot say whether he can play or but it is very unlikely that he will start his skill training before a week.”
