West Indies off-spinner Shane Shillingford picked up fifty Test wickets from 11 Test matches after bagging the wicket of India opener Murali Vijay in the first innings of the first Test at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

West Indies off-spinner Shane Shillingford picked up 50 Test wickets from 11 Test matches after bagging the wicket of India opener Murali Vijay in the first innings of the first Test at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
India resuming the day at 37 for loss of now wickets, lost Shikhar Dhawan early in the match. Shillingford removed Dhawan at first. Dhawan was out as he inside edged one from Shillingford onto his stumps. The ball didn’t bounce and Dhawan was on the back-foot. The previous ball had almost carried to the bowler for a return catch.
The record of reaching the fastest 50 wickets is held by Australian Charlie Turner who achieved the feat well inside six Test matches.
