Dubai: Shane Warne, the legendary spinner after watching Yasir Shahâs tremendous form, said he wants to train alongside him and the Pakistan team prior to the third Test in Sharjah. Shah, who came back from an injury in the second Test, performed brilliantly to help his team win the match as well as climbed up to the No 2 position in the world rankings for Test bowlers. His eight wickets in the match helped him achieve it in just 11 Tests that he has played. Warne, who had met Shah earlier this year during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, seemed thrilled by his bowling spell.
Warne is currently in United Arab Emirates(UAE) for the promotional event of a golf tournament and if situations be, Yasir Shah can actually realize what Warne actually wants adding more to his own advancement regarding bowling.
While talking about Shah, Warne also mentioned about England spinner Adil Rashid. He said he wants Rashid to succeed but was totally amazed by Shahâs way. âIf I could find some time this week, I would love to go down and have a bowl with [Yasir], because I am trying to prepare for the Cricket All Stars next week as well,â said Warne, who is due to fly out of the UAE on Friday,â Warne told to The National.
He went on to add, âI am trying to get as much practice in as I can. I might not be that welcome down in the England camp, so I might have to try the Pakistan camp to have a bowl. I might get a bit competitive in the England nets, I might try to knock a few of them over.â
He also mentioned a few points which can help Shah better his skills. âFrom what I have seen of this Test match, he has got all the toys, I just think he gets a little impatient. I think he just needs to slow down a little bit, take a breath, chill out, and set up a batsman a little more, rather than just go ripping leg-break, straight one, wrong âun. To me, he just needs to be a little more patient and toil away.â
Shane Warne, who took 16 wickets in the two Tests he played in UAE, said the conditions are favourable for spinners and they will enjoy bowling there. Adding a bit more praises after Shahâs name, Warne said, âI think Yasir is a real hustle and bustle leg-spinner. To me, he is the best leg-spinner in international cricket at the moment. He is a wonderful bowler.â
Lastly, talking about Rashid Khan, he said, âRashid will hopefully get better. He is not as fluent as a Yasir Shah, but that doesnât mean he is not as effective. He can be just as effective. If Rashid gets his confidence up, I think he can be a real handful.â
Warne will be seen in a Twenty20 battle with his team of greats facing Sachin Tendulkar and his team in United States soon. Here is the related tweet by him:
I’m liking my man Yasir Shah’s energy & shape on the ball, also his over spinner & patience !! He’s going to take 200 + test wickets
