Shikhar Dhawan brought up 17th One-Day International (ODI) half-century during the fifth ODI between India and Australia at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Saturday. Dhawan has been on fire, he needed just 39 balls to reach his first fifty of the match so far. India won the toss and put Australia to bat first. The hosts posted a huge total of 330 in their 50 overs. In reply, the Indian openers have given India a flying start, going almost at seven an over. Earlier in the day, David Warner and Mitchell Marsh scored centuries helping Australia post the big total. While it was Warner’s 5th century, it was Marsh’s first-ever international ton for Australia. Marsh remained unbeaten on 102 from just 84 balls. His explosive innings was inclusive of nine fours and two sixes. On the other hand, Warner fielded nine fours and three sixes in his innings of 122 from 113 balls.

George Bailey who has been in a terrific form lately failed to deliver for Australia this time. The youngster Rishi Dhawan who has not had the best of debuts dismissed him in the 15th over, leaving Australia at 117 for 4. He scored six runs off 14 balls. However, the new debutant for India, Jaspreet Bumrah had a fairytale start to his international career with excellent figures of 2 for 40 in 10 overs.
