In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014 match No 32 between Delhi Daredevils and Sunrisers Hyderabad, the game was halted during the second innings of the match by passing showers twice. It led to the match being reduced first to 15 overs before it was further reduced to 12 overs via Duckworth Lewis Method (D/L) with Hyderabad needing 97 runs to chase down.

Hyderabad didn’t well once the match resumed second time around, as their captain Shikhar Dhawan got out while trying to play a square cut. However, he couldn’t keep it down and was caught by JP Duminy at backward point taking the catch. It resulted in David Warner the swashbuckling left-hander coming into bat at No 3 position. Unfortunately, the rain again came down with Hyderabad  17 for one after two overs.

Earlier, Delhi Dardevils stuttered their way to a score of 143 runs on the board for the loss of seven wickets. They were in a good position when the first rain break arrived at 103 for the loss three wickets. But once the play resumed they lost the plot and could only score 40 runs of their last seven overs and ended up with a modest total on the board.
