India’s opening batsman, Shikhar Dhawan, scored his 8th century in ODIs, against minnows, Ireland, in their Pool B, match 34 of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 at Seddon Park in Hamilton on Tuesday. His hundred came off 84 deliveries including 11 boundaries and five sixes along with a strike-rate of 119.00. Currently, India are 183 for no loss in 27 overs, with Shikhar Dhawan batting on 100 and Virat Kohli on three.
Earlier, Irish skipper, William Porterfield won the toss and elected to bat first as Ireland were bowled out for 259, with Niall O’Brien being the highest scorer with 75 runs and Mohammed shami claiming three for 41. Having qualified for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 quarter-final, India would want to strengthen their position with the clash against Ireland at Seddon Park, Hamilton on Tuesday.
