In the 54th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014, the stretched proceedings received a much needed fillip with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)  fielders. It was an important wicket of the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) with Manish Pandey’s sheer brilliance on the field after Dhawan’s drive found the fielder, he picked the ball up quickly and flung the ball to wicket-keeper Robin Uthappa. The keeper whipped the bails off in a flash and Dhawan was short of his ground.

Venugopal Rao had to get a move on and three boundaries of an over frustrated the home team. There were two drop catches of absolute sitters in the deep from Yusuf Pathan and Sunil Narine. Then Venugopal Rao ran himself out tragically off the last ball of the 15th over.

Ryan ten Doeschate was then brought in and after a few dot balls, Ojha smashed him for six over long on. But then Ojha hit a skier in the air and ten Doeschate settled under it and took the catch. Earlier, Kolkata captain Gautam Gambhir won the toss and chose to bowl first. Kolkata made no changes to the side but Hyderabad brought in Jason Holder and Srikkanth Aniruddha.
