Visitors Australia made strong comeback with the ball, to dismiss India A for 403, as they maintained their lead going into the second innings, while they were two wickets down at the tea break on Day 3 of the warm-up tie at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday. Shreyas Iyer struck an unbeaten 202, while Gowtham K was dismissed for 74. For Australia, Nathan Lyon was the top wicket-taker with 4 scalps for 162 runs. Australia started the post-lunch session on a positive note, claiming the wicket of good going Gowtham, who fell for 74 to Stephen O’Keefe at the score of 372. The same over saw the dismissal of Shahbaaz Nadeem for an unfortunate duck. However, just nine runs later, it was Ashoke Dinda, who fell for a mere couple to Lyon, while it was then at the score of 403, when it was Saini, who was the last man to be dismissed for mere 4 off the same man. However, it was Iyer, who brought up his double ton right on time, before the Indian innings folded up.
Australia started their second innings on a sad note, as they lost opener Renshaw for mere 10 at the score of 27 off Pandya. While just five runs later, it was Maxwell, who fell for a mere single to Saini. Nevertheless, it was fellow opener David Warner and Stephen O’Keefe, who took charge of the innings and were batting steadily at the tea break, as Australians were 59 for the loss of 2 wickets, leading by 125 runs.
