Shreyar Iyer, Cheteshwar Pujara, KL Rahul, Unmukt Chand and Karun Nair were among the players selected for the Board President XI squad that will face the South Africans in the two-day warm match from October 30 in Mumbai which will be played before the four-match Mahatma Gandhi-Nelson Mandela Test series, which is scheduled to begin from November 5. Pujara-led side also includes the likes of Naman Ojha and Karn Sharma who have one Test appearance for India will strength the side. While Karn made his Test debut against Australia in December 2014 Down Under, Ojha played his first Test recently in Sri Lanka. He had replaced injured Wriddhiman Saha for the final Test at Colombo which the visitors had won by 117 runs.

Shreyas whose 83 from 71 deliveries in the final innings set the tune of their chase of 236 runs against Tamil Nadu and eventually the hosts won the nail-bitter contest by one wicket. Earlier in the tournament, the 20-year-old had smashed a 176-ball 200 against Punjab and along with Mumbai skipper Aditya Tare’s century, the hosts had posted a huge total of 569 after bolwing out Punjab cheaply for 154. Eventually, Mumbai thrashed the visitors by an innings and 12 runs.
