Shubman Gill creates history with fourth century as India fights back on final day. During Day 5 of the fourth Test at Old Trafford against England, Indian skipper Shubman Gill smashed a brilliant century and set multiple world records. The captain scored four centuries in this series, surpassing the record set by cricketing greats such as Virat Kohli, Don Bradman, and Steven Smith, who all managed three in their debut series.

Shubman Gill joined Don Bradman and Sunil Gavaskar as the only captains to reach four centuries in a single Test series. His fourth hundred also broke the record for the most century-plus scores by a captain in a series.

India resumed Day 5 on 174 for two, trailing England by 137 runs. Shubman Gill, who was an overnight batter, went on to complete his century before falling to Jofra Archer just before the lunch break.
