Simran Sood who has been accused of abduction of a producer and associated to dreaded gangster, is alleged to be connected to an IPL bookie after some photographs of her at the IPL after-parties surfacing in the scene.

A report in Dainikbhaskar.com suggests Simran was spotted in one of the Indian Premier League (IPL) after-parties with Andy Bichel (a retired Australian cricket player), who was the bowling coach of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team for the 2009 season and also with speedster Doug Bollinger, who’s with Chennai Super King (CSK) franchise.

Simran, who has been trying her hand in the film industry is also believed to be close to several Bollywood celebrities.

“We are investigating her bookie links also checking the data of her mobile phones to know more about her network and how did she manage to pay huge rents (Rs 65,000) of the plush apartment in Oberoi Spring tower and how she spent lavishly on herself,” the Mumbai Police was quoted as saying by the website.

These allegations are rising in the wake of recent Nupur Mehta case where a newspaper carried out a sting operation pointing finger towards the model for fixing the World Cup 2011 semi-final between India and Pakistan. Nupur fobbed off all callers initially. But later held a press conference outside a coffee shop in Lokhandwala to deny the allegations. However by then things were blown out of proportion and sparks were flying all across the media.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has already issued a warning to keep a check on illegal activities in the glamorous event after several complaints of spot-fixing surfaced during the English county season and the recently concluded Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
