Tim David and Selladore Vijayakumar starred with the bat and ball respectively as Singapore beat Nepal by 82 runs at the Indian Association Ground in Singapore to seal a place in the 2019 ICC Twenty20 World Cup Qualifier.

With this win, Singapore topped the group in the ICC T20 Asia Qualifiers and sealed a place in the Qualifiers, which will be played in the United Arab Emirates in October-November this year, for the next year’s World T20.

David scored 77 off 43 balls, hitting 8 fours and three sixes, while opener Rohan Rangarajan and wicketkeeper-batsman Manpreet Singh chipped in with 49 and 42 runs respectively as Singapore scored 191/6 after electing to bat.

Rohan, during his 33-ball innings, hit three fours and four sixes while Singh hit three fours and two sixes in his 27-ball stay in the middle.

While Singapore lost Surendran Chandramohan early, David and Rohan added 89 runs together. David then put up a 66-run partnership with Singh, helping Singapore post a formidable total on the board.

For Nepal, Abinash Bohara returned with the figures of 4/35 while Karan KC scalped two wickets, conceding 26 runs in his three overs.
