New Delhi: In what comes as a big news, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly and Secretary Jay Shah will continue with their respective positions after Supreme Court allowed the BCCI to modify their constitution.

As per the old constitution, any office bearer or administrator will have to serve a three-year cooling-off period after serving two consecutive years in the state board or BCCI. Since Ganguly had served as the President of Bengal Cricket Association, he would not have been allowed to continue as BCCI President for the second term as per the old constitution. Same was the case with Jay Shah, who had served as the President of Gujarat Cricket Association.

However, the Supreme Court have allowed the BCCI to make changes to their constitution which means that both Ganguly and Jay Shah can continue with their respective roles.
