South Africa were bowled out for a score of 313 after 99.3 overs on Day Two of the ongoing third Test against England at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on Friday. Dean Elgar remained the top-scorer for South Africa till the end of the innings with his 122-ball 46, that got the hosts off to a strong start before things went downhill on Day 1. Morne Morkel was the last batsman dismissed, edging a length delivery from Ben Stokes towards opposition skipper Alastair Cook in the slips, with Stokes collecting his third wicket of the innings to top the English bowling charts. The hosts will revel in the fact that their lower-order managed to rally around and guide them past the 300-run mark despite the fact that they were reduced to 225 for seven at one stage. Jonny Bairstow took two catches off the bowling of Anderson and Broad respectively to dismiss Morris and Rabada respectively. With six catches in the innings, Bairstow equalled the record held by former England wicketkeeper Jack Russell for the most dismissals at the Wanderers, the feat of which he achieved in 1995. Bairstow missed out on equalling the most catches in a Test innings currently held by four wicketkeepers when he dropped an edge off Anderson that would’ve dismissed Morkel. South Africa resumed from their overnight score of 267 for the loss of seven wickets at the start of play on Day 2, with the 50-run stand between Chris Morris and Kagiso Rabada getting completed in the very second over of the day. The pair looked set to bring up the 300-run mark by themselves and propel South Africa towards the bigger milestone of 350 when the new-ball duo of James Anderson and Stuart Broad took a wicket each to send the pair back to the pavilion.
