The fast bowling trio of Morne Morkel, Chris Morris and Vernon Philander have been declared fit by their team doctor.

Speaking to Sportstar, Dr Shuaib Manjra, head of medical committee, said: "Morne is back and fit to play. He is doing fine and he is also expected to play in the international (four-day Test) against Zimbabwe. Even Vernon and Chris Morris are back to bowling. There are no more injury concerns among pacers in the team. The selectors are likely to announce the South African squad for the India series by next week."

South Africa are scheduled to play a four-day Test against Zimbabwe starting December 26. Philander and Morris had missed South Africa s Test series against Bangladesh, while Morne had picked up an injury in the first Test against the same side.

The trio was seen participating in South Africa's domestic T20 competition. It is being speculated that Dale Steyn could make an international comeback in the three-Test series against India.
