South African skipper AB de Villiers has won the toss and elected to bat against Sri Lanka in the third One-Day International at Pallekele.
The Proteas have to regroup and put up a solid performance to have any hopes of winning the series. They are already 0-2 down in the five-match ODI series. Another defeat would make the last two matches inconsequential.
Though weather played spoilsport during the second ODI, the chances of a full game being played at Pallekele are much brighter. The pitch at this venue is conducive to fast bowling and the visitors will look to exploit that.
South Africa are sure to miss their main batsman Hashim Amla while Angelo Mathews returns to the squad.
Teams:
Sri Lanka: Upul Tharanga, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Mahela Jayawardene, Kumar Sangakkara (wk), Angelo Perera, Thisara Perera, Dinesh Chandimal, Angelo Mathews (c), Rangana Herath, Ajantha Mendis, Lasith Malinga.
South Africa: Quinton de Kock, Alviro Petersen, Jean-Paul Duminy, AB de Villiers (c&wk), Faf du Plessis, David Miller, Robin Peterson, Ryan McLaren, Lonwabo Tsosobe, Morne Morkel, Farhaan Behardien.
