Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Wednesday announced the squad for South Africa‘s two-Test series in Bangladesh in July, which includes as many as four uncapped players in Reeza Hendricks, Dane Vilas, Aaron Phangiso and Kagiso Rabada. The middle-order mainstay, AB de Villiers, has been granted paternity leave and he will not be available for the entire Test series.

South Africa will travel to Bangladesh in July this year to play a full tour, which comprises of two Tests, three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and two Twenty20 Internationals. READ: Dale Steyn clarifies his ‘last few balls’ comment that infuriated Bangladesh fans

The T2oIs will be played first. The first match of the series will be played on June 5, Sunday at the Shere Bangla National Stadium. On June 7, Tuesday both teams will meat once again to play the last T20I at the same venue. The two Tests will be played from July 21-25 and July 30-August 3 respectively. A release from CSA quoted selection convener Andrew Hudson as saying, “The changes have been brought about partly by the retirement of Alviro Petersen and the non-availability of AB de Villiers who has been granted paternity leave.”

“Reeza and Stiaan van Zyl are both options to open the batting and Stiaan can also be used in AB’s batting position in the middle-order. Dane provides us with the wicketkeeping cover that would normally also be AB’s responsibility.
