South Africa off to a slow start after early hiccups against Zimbabwe in Pool B, ICC World Cup 2015 match

The Proteas were off to a slow start after initial hiccups in the South Africa vs Zimbabwe Pool B match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 at Seddon Park, Hamilton on Sunday. AB de Villiers was on 17 not out and Faf du Plessis was on 15 not out. South Africa were 55 for the loss of two wickets after 15 overs. Zimbabwe bowled a couple of extras, helping South Africa add few runs on the board. The partnership between Du Plessis and De Villiers was from 34 runs 41 balls. There was another chance of a wicket when Faf du Plessis nicked one, but it fell just short of Elton Chigumbura. Solomon Mire was the third bowler to be introduced into the attack and skipper Elton Chigumbura was the fourth bowler.

South Africa lost two early wickets. After Quinton de Kock was dismissed for seven by Tendai Chatara, Tinashe Panyangara bowled Hashim Amla for 11 runs. De Kock was caught by Craig Ervine as he hit the ball straight into the hands of the fielder. Zimbabwe have been good on money, as the initial overs were dominated by maiden overs and good fielding. Faf du Plessis and AB de Villiers were the next two batsmen in for South Africa. South Africa made a slow start. Just when Amla look to have settled, he was bowled by Panyangara. Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to bowl against South Africa. Tinashe Panyangara started the match with a maiden over. A good crowd have turned out at Hamilton. Later on, Chatara almost took a second wicket when Amla was given out for leg-before wicket. After consulting with De Plessis, Amla decided to go upstairs.
