South Africa still trail England by 488 runs at stumps on Day Two of the second Test at Cape Town. South Africa ended the day on 141 for 2, with Hashim Amla batting on 64 and AB de Villiers on 25. South Africa’s two most senior players have put on 56 for the third wicket. This innings would have given both of them a lot of confidence after a poor show in the series against India prior to this. Dean Elgar and Stiaan Van Zyl  were the two men dismissed for the hosts. Van Zyl was run out in the early stages of the innings, but Elgar made sure he got a start before he was dismissed by Ben Stokes for 44. England had earlier in the day declared at 629 for 6. Stokes scored a brilliant double century, which is the second fastest one in Test history, just behind Nathan Astle. Stokes got to his milestone off 163 deliveries, whereas Astle took just 153 deliveries to get there. Jonathan Bairstow too scored a superb unbeaten century—his first in Tests. Stokes and Bairstow put on 399 for the sixth wicket, which is a world record for the highest partnership in Tests for the sixth wicket. Stokes’ 258 is also the highest for a batsman coming in at No. 6. Live Cricket Score, South Africa vs England 2015-16, 2nd Test, Day 3 at Cape Town

The match seems to be tilted in England’s favour at the moment, but nothing can be said till the likes of Amla and de Villiers are at the crease. England will want to get rid of them as early as possible on Day Three.
