West Indies reached a total of 10 runs after two overs as play resumed after rain delay. West Indies now need 229 runs to win in 29 overs. Vernon Philander bowled a beautiful first over as he only conceded three runs from it. The second over was bowled by Morne Morkel which conceded a total of seven runs including a boundary.

South Africa’s innings ended at 279 for eight off 48.2 overs after the rain stopped play. South Africa at one point were sailing towards a mammoth total, but were soon reduced from 238 for three to 272 for eight. The fightback was led by Andre Russell who was responsible for three wickets in that period; one run-out and two wickets. Earlier in the innings South Africa won the toss and elected to bat. They were in deep trouble with opener Rilee Rossouw and Faf du Plessis both falling on ducks leaving South Africa in a spot of bother at 16 for two. Jerome Taylor took two wickets .Newly crowned skipper, Jason Holder also bowled well early on but has nothing to show for his effort.
