The toss has been delayed by 30 minutes in the first Test between South Africa and West Indies at Centurion. Centurion has been at the receiving end of heavy rainfall in lead up to the Test, and there are thunderstorms forecast for every day of the Test match.

The West Indies are touring South Africa after a marathon six years, with player-board disputes lurking in the background. Its a beginning of an era in South African cricket on the captaincy front with Graeme Smith having passed on the baton to Hashim Amla who is set to lead South Africa for the first time in a Test match at home.
