South Africa and the West Indies are coming off an enthralling Twenty20 International series which was pocketed by the West Indies by a two-one margin. The Hosts would be keen to turn things around in the ODI format considering that the ICC World Cup 2015 is only a whisker away. Big names are expected to return for South Africa for the ODI leg of the series. AB de Villiers, Hashim Amla, Jean Paul Duminy should bolster the batting whereas the bowling unit is expected to be back to full strength with Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel and Vernon Philander returning.

Jason Holder will take over captaincy duties for the West Indies starting with the first ODI against South Africa. Holder has taken over from Dwayne Bravo who has been sacked as captain and omitted from the ODI squad for the series and the World Cup. Kieron Pollard has also suffered a similar fate. Jonathan Carter is expected to debut for South Africa.
