Sri Lanka bowled out for 117 vs New Zealand in 2nd ODI at Christchurch

Sri Lanka were bowled out for a paltry 117 in just 27.4 overs during the second One-Day International (ODI) against New Zealand at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch on Monday. The New Zealand pace attack was at its rampaging best once again, as Matt Henry and Mitchell McClenaghan ran through the Sri Lankan batting order, with Henry and McClenaghan recording figures of 4 for 33 and and 3 for 32 respectively. The Sri Lankan batsmen looked even more clueless against the lethal pace attack in the second game, with Nuwan Kulasekara top-scoring for the visitors with a score of 19 off 24 balls. The Sri Lankan opening combination of Tillakaratne Dilshan and Danushka Gunathilaka were more attacking in their approach at the start of the game, with both batsmen getting a boundary or two after the start of play. Dilshan however, was the first to depart, coming down the track looking to make room, but getting cramped by the ball that angles into the batsman, with Dilshan getting a leading edge off the handle towards Ross Taylor in the slips. The Sri Lankans never recovered thereafter, with Henry and McClenaghan getting rid of the batsmen one after another, with most of the dismissals occuring off short deliveries.
