Sri Lanka Cricket Awards unvieled in Colombo

The launch event of Dialog Sri Lanka Cricket Awards (SLCA) took place at Taj Samudra hotel in Sri Lanka’s capital Colombo. The actual event where cricketers will be honoured is scheduled to take place on October 19, 2015 i.e. 20 days later. The award is given to Sri Lankan cricketers and cricket clubs to acknowledge their contributions and achievements. A lot of key members of SLC were present in the launch event— Sidath Wettimuny (SLC Interim Committee Chairman), Praksh Shaffter (SLC Interim Committee Secretary), Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews and a lot more. Wettimuny was quoted by news.lk saying, “For the third consecutive year, Dialog Sri Lanka Cricket Awards is gearing up in grand fashion to honour the men and women who have risen above others to shine as stars of the game. Around 65 national cricketers will be feted for their feats during the domestic and international cricketing season 2014/2015. These individuals have indelibly etched their names in the record books, setting the stage for others to follow.” Meanwhile Harsha Samaranayake (Dialog Axiata – General Manager, Brands & Media) said, “Dialog is proud and humbled to have the opportunity to power the passion of our nation, as proud sponsors of Our Lions, Our Pride – the Sri Lanka Cricket team – during the past three years and we are privileged to support the 2015 edition of the cricket awards.” Two key awards in Dialog Sri Lanka Cricket Awards 2015 are— Dialog Cricketer of the Year Award and the Dialog People’s Player of the Year Award.
