Sri Lanka vs England 2nd ODI Colombo 2014: Sri Lanka in command as Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardena notch up 50 run stand

Nov 29, 2014

Kumar Sangakara and mahela Jayawardena steadied the Sri Lanka innings with a 50 run stand after the fall of two quick wickets against England in the second One-Day International in Colombo. Sri Lanka came out all guns blazing in pursuit of 185 set by England before losing the two openers, Kausal Perera and Tillakaratne Dilshan in quick succession. With Sangakara and Jayawardena at the crease Sri Lanka appear to be in complete command of the match needing just 97 more runs with plenty of overs in hand .Only divine intervention can save England from yet another defeat in an ODI. England have failed to build any pressure on Sri Lanka despite the boost of a couple of reasonably early wickets.
