Sri Lanka win toss; elect to field in 2nd ODI

Dec 20, 2013
Sri Lanka have won the toss and elected to bowl in the second One-Day International against Pakistan on Friday.
Pakistan won the first ODI, thanks to a masterful century by Mohammad Hafeez (122), aided by Sohaib Maqsood (73) and Sharjeel Khan (61). They set a target of 323 for Sri Lanka in the second innings, but Angelo Mathews’s men fell short of Pakistan’s total by 11 runs, as they were bowled out for 311 in 49.4 overs.
Coming into the second match, both teams will be looking to put up a better bowling performance, as both line-ups leaked an excess of 300. The Sharjah track is expected to assist the batsmen in the second game as well.
Sri Lanka will be looking to square up the series by winning this match, or else they will face a do-or-die situation going into the third match.
