Sridharan Sriram appointed as Assistant Bowling coach of Chennai Super Kings

Ahead of the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), former Indian cricketer Sridharan Sriram has been appointed as assistant bowling coach of the five-time champions Chennai Super Kings.

This announcement was made by the franchise via their social media accounts on February 24 (Monday). Sriram is currently working as a broadcaster with the commentary team of Star Sports Tamil for the Champions Trophy, and will join the support staff of CSK.

The rest of the franchises’ support staff consists of head coach Stephen Fleming, batting coach Michael Hussey, bowling coach Eric Simons, batting and fielding coach Rajiv Kumar.

Sriram is going to work with highly experienced spinners like Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Shreyas Gopal. CSK also has Noor Ahmed, a wrist-spinner from Afghanistan along with left-arm spin all-rounder Rachin Ravindra from New Zealand.

During his international time, Sriram represented India in eight ODI matches between 2000 and 2004. He also played for Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Himachal Pradesh in domestic side, collecting 9539 runs in 133 first-class matches, along with taking 85 wickets.
