Steve Smith joins Bangladesh Premier League franchise Comilla Victorians

Warner will be playing for Sylhet Sixers for the upcoming edition of BPL.

Former Australia captain Steve Smith has been signed up by Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) franchise Comilla Victorians for the upcoming edition of the tournament, scheduled to begin on January 5. “We have signed him and hopefully he will be available after four games,” Victorians officials told Cricbuzz on Tuesday.

Smith, currently on his last leg of the one-year suspension for his involvement in the infamous ball-tampering scandal, will join the squad, following the departure of Pakistan allrounder Shoaib Malik, who will available for only the opening four matches.

Malik will join Pakistan team ahead series against New Zealand.

Meanwhile, Smith along with David Warner will be serving the ban till March 29, 2019, while Cameron Bancroft will end his nine-month suspension on December 29. Warner will be playing for Sylhet Sixers for the upcoming edition of BPL.
