Australisn skipper Steven Smith and all-rounder Mitchell Marsh were dismissed for 21 and 11, by Stuart Thompson and John Mooney, respectively in the only ODI against minnows Ireland at the Civil Service Cricket Club in Belfast on Thursday. Currently, Australia are 220 for the loss of six wickets in 40 overs with Shane Watson on 25 and Matthew Wade on one. Earlier, Australian skipper, Steven Smith won the toss and elected to bat first, with Ashton Agar, Marcus Stoinis and James Pattinson missing out, while George Dockrell, Max Sorensen and Kevin O’Brien missing out for the Irish. Australia get ready to embrace their first round of limited-overs cricket since winning the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 when they take on Ireland in the one-off One-Day International (ODI) at Belfast on Thursday. The visiting Australian team return to action after a surreal few weeks, that saw them bid emotional goodbyes to veterans Michael Clarke, Chris Rogers, Brad Haddin and Ryan Harris.
