Amidst the controversy surrounding Indian cricket regarding the spot-fixing claims in an IPL match and allegations of betting and match-fixing against axed BCCI president, N Srinivasan‘s son-in-law, Gurunath Meiyappan, Rajasthan Royals team owner, Raj Kundra and co-owner of Chennai Super Kings, Vindoo Dara Singh; India’s one-off great, Sunil Gavaskar on Tuesday claimed that if ever any player is found guilty of the offence, he should be jailed instantly.
Gavaskar was quoted saying to Indian news channel, Aaj Tak, “If a player is found guilty of wrong doing, he should be jailed & his career score card should also be deleted from record books.”
So far, there has not been any allegations regarding the involvement of any players in this issue. However, the final verdict regarding the report from the Justice Mukul Mudgal committe and his panel is still awaited from the Supreme Court.
