After his successful stint against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)— meeting the same competitor once again —Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) spin attack spearhead Sunil Narine shut the critics for his inability to perform in the previous outings of IPL 2016. SRH batsmen were thrashed one after the other with their key batsmen being targeted for Narine’s googlies. It is very likely Narine’s spin can prove to be heavy on SRH once again at Delhi on Wednesday. Unlike his usual wicket taking skills and leading him to the Purple cap lists, Narine was not at his best in this season. His bowling abilities lacked the skills that were required to give the push KKR needed. FULL CRICKET SCORECARD: Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Kolkata Knight Riders, IPL 2016 playoffs, Eliminator at Delhi

As mentioned by Ravi Shastri on Times of India, “it took a game or two for batsmen to realize the new Narine was just a dummy of his old self. They could now rock back and deposit him in galleries. Gambhir that consummate best man on a spinners’ day out, knew the game was up. He talked him out to the bench and it worked—just in the nick of time.” KKR’s failure could be due to this man unable to produce the outcome that he usually does in every edition. But such is their reputation that Hyderabad went went for an extra batsman in the last game.

Narine’s return covered up the loss for Andre Russell. Yusuf Pathan is another name that is prominent when spoken about KKR. They are not an easy team when put them into interrogation but when asked the right questions they will provide you with ample of answers in terms of their performance.
