Sunrisers Hyderabad have released eight players while retaining 17 ahead of the Indian Premier League auction next month. Among those who have been let go include Wriddhiman Saha, Carlos Brathwaite, Alex Hales and Chris Jordan.

SRH had earlier traded opener Shikhar Dhawan to Delhi Daredevils while welcoming Shahbaz Nadeem Vijay Shankar and Abhishek Sharma to their squad.
The 2018 IPL finalists have retained their core group including the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Kane Williamson, David Warner (missed IPL 2018 after ball-tampering scandal), Rasid Khan, Shakib Al Hasan among others.

Among the retained, 11 are Indian and six are overseas.

SRH topped the league stage last season with nine wins and five losses. They beat Kolkata Knight Riders in the second qualifier before losing to Chennai Super Kings in the summit clash.
