Suresh Raina takes an one-handed stunner to send back Younis Khan
The Indian team has never been known as an excellent fielding unit but over the years with that has changed. In Suresh Raina, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja and Anijkya Rahane, the team has some of the finest fielders in world cricket.
Raina particularly has impressed right since his debut and over the years has remained one of the most consistent fielders. In Asia Cup 2012, in a One-Day International (ODI) against Pakistan, Raina fielding at covers took a stunning catch. Here’s what happened: Younis Khan had just slammed a quick-fire fifty and was set for some late overs slogging. He attempted a scoop off Praveen Kumar over the extra cover.
The ball seemed to be flying past Raina, who standing at the edge of the circle, jumped and plucked the ball with his right hand. It was one of the best catches, Raina has ever pulled off. Pakistan put up a formidable score of 330, but arch-rivals India chased it down with ease. Winning the match by six wickets and Virat Kohli scored a brilliant 183.
