Indian middle-order batsman Suresh Raina found himself surrounded by controversy after his tweet against Pakistan’s exit from ICC World Twenty20 Championship sparked controversy.

“Ek do din kate gaye ghar !!! Woh bhi besharam ki tarah Gaye… Bye bye Pakistan!!!!”

However, the tweet was deleted few seconds later.

Pervious to that Raina had tweeted, “Back home after so many days.. Can’t wait to Join The Chennai Super kings For CL..”

When the 25-year-old southpaw was confronted with tweets on Twitter, he tweeted, “Smart phones r dangerous. Discovered it last night after my nephew posted random tweets. I’m a sportsman and would never disrespect.”

“Though I already deleted it, I felt its better to clarify. To all those who r upset, I’m sorry. I’m not one to show disrespect,” he added.

India failed to reach the semi-finals despite winning four games out of the five they played, due to poor run-rate in the Super Eights stage compared to Australia.

On Thursday night, Pakistan lost to host nation Sri Lanka by 16 runs.
