Madhya Pradesh cruised to a 9-wicket win over Andhra in their Super League Group A Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match at Bhubaneswar on Friday.

MP had won the toss and elected to field. Their move reaped rich rewards as their bowlers reduced Andhra to 35 for eight in 12 overs. Naren Reddy, the top scorer for Andhra ensured they got past 50 but Jatin Saxena dismissed him for 15. Andhra were eventually bowled out for 58. Such was the brilliance of the MP bowlers that Andhra had just the three players who got their scores in double digits. Anurag Singh was the pick of the bowlers for MP, taking three for 12 in his three overs. All the bowlers picked up at least a wicket in what was a team performance from MP.

Chasing a paltry total of 59, both the openers Monish Mishra and Jalaj Saxena got off to a flier. They added 41 runs in just 4.4 overs before Ashwin Hebbar had the MP skipper, Mishra (23) caught behind. But the result was inevitable and Jalaj and Zafar Ali ensured their team won with no further hiccups.
