India vs Pakistan clash likely on 15 February in Colombo
The official schedule for next year’s T20 World Cup will be announced in Mumbai on Tuesday, November 25. It is reported that the match between India and Pakistan will be played in Colombo on February 15.
After their matches in the Asia Cup 2025, the two teams will face each other again in the T20 World Cup. This match will be held at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. According to ESPNcricinfo, India and Pakistan are placed in the same group, along with the USA, Netherlands, and Namibia.
India’s first group match will be against the USA in Mumbai on February 7, which will also be the opening match of the T20 World Cup. India will then face Namibia on February 12 in Delhi, followed by the high-voltage encounter against Pakistan. The Indian team will play its final group-stage match against the Netherlands on February 18 in Ahmedabad. Each team will play three group-stage matches.
The 2026 T20 World Cup is scheduled from February 7 to March 8 and will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Pakistan will play its matches in Colombo or Kandy. The tournament format remains similar to the 2024 edition held in the USA and the West Indies. The 20 teams are divided into four groups of five each. The top two teams from every group will qualify for the Super 8 stage, where they will be further divided into two groups of four. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, followed by the final.
