Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim shared the best ever stand for Bangladesh in the 1st ODI against at Dhaka. Their partnership of 178 off 132 balls is now the highest partnership for Bangladesh in One-Day Internationals (ODIs) for any wicket. The previous best was 175 between Habibul Bashar and Rajin Saleh against Kenya in 2006.

Meanwhile, Iqbal scored a very vital century against Pakistan in the first ODI at Dhaka. Tamim had opened the innings along with Soumya Sarkar and the duo got the team off to as slow, yet steady start. He has put on an excellent century partnership with wicket-keeper Mushfiqur Rahim off just 82 deliveries that has set the platform quite beautifully for the other middle-order and the lower-order to exploit.
